The Apple of the Industry is making its return this 12 – 15 April 2016 at the Singapore Expo! Food & Hotel Asia (FHA) has grown as a trade exhibition over the years and is now anticipated both locally and internationally.
In 2014, FHA concluded on 11 April at the Singapore Expo. All 10 halls of Singapore Expo were occupied, which amounted to 95,000sqm of exhibition space. A record 63,555 international trade attendees were welcomed by FHA from 97 countries and regions!
- The exhibitions
The main attraction of the exhibition is, of course, the exhibition itself. With the 2014 edition of FHA starting off by setting new records as a record 2,937 exhibitors from 64 countries/regions and 56 international group pavilions flocking to Singapore, we can only expect more this year. We’re so excited and can’t wait to ogle over their display of the latest and most unique products. The exhibitors expected this year will cover services ranging from food & beverage management systems, specialty coffee and tea, housekeeping products, food processing equipment and accessories, and much more! Different topics will be covered. Let us know which one piques your interest:
- Hotels & Resorts Management Conference
- F & B Design, Technology & Operations Conference
- Food Safety & Supply Conference
- The competitions
This, in our opinion, is the most thrilling portion of the whole event. The FHA culinary challenge
beholds 3 categories for participants: Individual, team, and the Sweet High Tea Challenge, which is making its first appearance this year. Photo Credit: Food & Hotel Asia
The Sweet High Tea Challenge welcomes teams from hotels, restaurants, confectionaries, airlines, culinary training institutes or catering establishments. Each team will be made up of 2 competitors, working together to prepare a High Tea Set (in no particular style – it’s up to your creativity) that would cater to 6 persons. There’s even a barista challenge
, which is focused on advancing the profession while also promoting the beauty of specialty coffee. While we’re on the subject of coffee, who says you can’t enjoy a hot beverage and art at the same time? In a Latte Art duel
, contestants are required to prepare a free pour latte within just three-minutes (talk about intense!) in a performance and present it to a panel. Photo Credit: Food & Hotel Asia
There’s also something for the sweet tooth – and the chefs who prepare those desserts hail from 11 national teams – namely China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam. The Asian Pastry Cup 2016
will be streamed live on YouTube and Youku (in China), allowing pastry fans a top class view to the excitement and beauty involved in the preparation of pastry creations. Photo Credit: Food & Hotel Asia
