There's no shortage of culinary delights in a food paradise like Singapore. Whether you want to treat yourself at a Michelin-recommended spot or just want to have an affordable meal in town, there’s almost something for everyone.

If you want to add a little pep in your step this July, check out the 25th edition of the annual Singapore Food Festival 2018, an epic celebration of local cuisine! Here are 4 of the top highlights we picked out for you:

 

Transport back to the colonial times and binge on hawker delights at The 50 Cents Fest

Feast on traditional fare such as Kerabu Bee Hoon (tossed rice vermicelli), Fish Moilee (lightly spiced creamy fish curry dish) and even Kopi Gu You (butter caramelised black coffee with your spare change at The 50 Cents Fest! (Yes, dishes are priced from 50 cents at the event!)

This year’s edition also includes entertainment acts such as traditional opera and dance performances so there’ll be food and fun for everyone!

Witness Siloso Beach transform into a 1km-long food street featuring second generation hawkers, a gourmet market, and an ITE School of Hospitality Showcase (only from 13 - 15 July). Enjoy modern twists to local delights such as Lobster Hokkien Mee, Tom Yum Prawn Burger, Laksa Mentai Soft Shell Crab Tacos, and visit the Gourmet Discover Market where you can pick up fresh ingredients for chefs to grill on the spot!

This month, the Singapore Food Festival is giving us an even better reason to visit alternative cinema, The Screening Room—with food themed movies and a specially curated menu of local delights by chef Samia, head chef of The Coriander Leaf (think crispy soft shell with chilli crab ragu and hawker-style BBQ chicken wings)!

Had a long day at work? We’ve got just the remedy for you—get the best of both after-work drinks-and-yoga worlds at District 1 Yoga’s Beer Yoga sessions!

Each participant will be given a bottle of craft beer from local microbrewery, Trouble Brewing, and can even bring the branded bottles home as a festival collectible (The bottles’ labels are specially-designed with illustrations depicting Singapore’s culinary tapestry by four talented local artists)!

  • Save some stomach space for the specials created exclusively for the event including McDonald’s D24 Durian McFlurry and Park Bench Deli’s special collaborations such as the Roast Char Siew Banh Mi (Roast Paradise collab) and Beef Rendang Burger (Rumah Makan Minang collab)
  • Join in Old Chang Kee’s celebration of Curry with Curry Day! There’ll be curry-themed treats, and family-friendly events including curry puff crimping demonstrations and spice art lessons for kids.
  • Visit the highlight of SFF, STREAT, a two-day F&B outdoor event featuring pop-up restaurants. culinary workshops, local entertainment acts and a retail pop-up. Asia's best bar, Manhattan Bar, will also have a pop-up at the event.
